Air leakage (Opposite of Airtightness) and ventilation, somehow seem to get confused as being the same thing! It is not! We need to stop adding additional non-compatible features to our building fabric, and focus on our walls and building fabric to do only what it is designed to do. Provide an air barrier and a thermal barrier for the occupancy of the home. There are some amazing assumed ideas of what we should expect a leaky home to provide, and in this video, we break down and explain, what the issues are of having a leaky home, and we break down, how you may contain someone infected with Covid-19 in a home. This video should not be considered as medical advice, and replicating some of the concepts within this video does not eliminate the risk of transmission.
In this video, we actually test a home with 2 exhaust fans, covered with and without a draught stopper.

The Exhaust tight product from tighthouse.com.au is a premium product that can be used to improve building performance. Integrated with a layer of insulation material and a radiant barrier. See how much of a difference air tightness changes with and without this product.

A video on bathroom Ventilation in Melbourne/southern Australian homes. What should YOU do to stop bathroom mould growing, and improve the performance of your home for heating and cooling? We cover a few examples here on how to improve healthy living, and how to improve the overall performance of your home for heating and cooling. Bathroom ventilation is really important when it comes to building tighter homes.

The key to controlling black mold is having a more comfortable home, that has less temperature swings, which also translates to less humidity swings. Leave some feedback on the video. We love hearing people’s experiences.
